Bryan Blanco
Esq., Senior Associate — Trademark & Intellectual Property
Licensed: California · U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (federal trademark practice)
Bryan Blanco is an intellectual property attorney with nearly a decade of experience protecting the brands, content, and creative assets that businesses build their futures on. His practice focuses on trademark prosecution, enforcement, and strategy — and he is the attorney clients turn to when a brand needs to be secured, defended, or rescued.
Bryan's trademark practice spans the full life of a brand: clearance searches and availability analysis, registration strategy, prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, office action responses, oppositions before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, enforcement, and licensing. He has successfully registered more than fifty trademarks and has overcome some of the most difficult refusals the USPTO issues — the likelihood-of-confusion and descriptiveness rejections that end most applications. Because trademark practice is federal, Bryan protects brands for clients nationwide.
His background gives him a perspective most trademark attorneys don't have: years spent on the business side of intellectual property. As an Emmy Award–winning production counsel, Bryan has structured production entities, negotiated talent and rights agreements, and cleared content for film and media projects — including fair use analysis supporting a Netflix-distributed documentary. As corporate counsel to a capital group, he has advised on compliance governance, investor documentation, and IP portfolio strategy. He doesn't just register trademarks; he understands what a brand is worth and how it fits into the larger business it serves.
Bryan earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, where he completed concentrations in both Business Law and Intellectual Property with honors, and his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Florida International University. He is a member of the California State Bar and practices before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has been recognized with the San Diego Business Journal's Leader in Law Award and a Southeast Regional Emmy® Award.
